In Torres v. Commissioner, petitioners were left facing more than $130,000 in assessed taxes and penalties after their prior attorney failed to appear or respond, resulting in dismissal of the case. After the taxpayers retained Meadows Collier, our team successfully moved to vacate the dismissal, reopened the case, and ultimately negotiated a highly favorable settlement.
