Josh Ungerman was quoted in a Tax Notes article published today written by Lauren Loricchio, titled "IRS Could Do More to Resolve Disputes via Mediation, GAO Says."

Firm Partner, Josh Ungerman was quoted in a Tax Notes article published today written by Lauren Loricchio, titled "IRS Could Do More to Resolve Disputes via Mediation, GAO Says." According to a recent report released by the Government Accountability Office, the IRS has six alternative dispute resolution (ADR) programs that provide mediation to avoid the appeals process and litigation in tax disputes which potentially reduce the time and costs to resolve disputes. Mr. Ungerman stated taxpayers and their representatives need to be better informed about the various ADR programs available, and that the “IRS needs to publicize its commitment to the ADR process, which includes having someone at the ADR meeting with authority to resolve the matter.”
